Frequently Asked Questions

Last updated: July 26, 2026

Are my passwords stored on your servers?+

No. Passwords are generated locally in your browser and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Is genApass safe to use?+

Yes. We use the Web Crypto API (crypto.getRandomValues) for cryptographically secure random generation — the same standard used by modern browsers for security-sensitive operations.

What password length should I use?+

We recommend at least 12–16 characters for most accounts. For highly sensitive accounts, use 20 or more characters with all character types enabled.

Why do I see a cookie banner?+

We use Google AdSense to show ads. Advertising cookies are only loaded if you accept them. You can change your choice anytime via Manage cookies in the footer.

Can I use genApass offline?+

Once the page is loaded, password generation works offline because it runs entirely in your browser.
